Hello friends!
I hope you’re having a great week!
As I strive to be a good duck mom, last week I went to our local hardware store in search of something better for Donald.
For several years, after feeding Donald what we refer to as “seed soup” simply birdseed in a bowl with water, I thought she deserved more.
I was beyond excited when the kind salesclerk suggested this for Donald.
“Just add some water or give her a second bowl of water.
She’ll love it!”
He sold me.
Later that day, as I worked on my book, I kept my face plastered to the window.
I couldn’t wait for Donald to fly in for her dinner.
Yes, we offer “Fly-thru” service.
Sadly, Donald wasn’t as excited as I’d hoped.
In fact, she freaked out over the change.
She sipped the water but avoided the pellets.
Seeing her agitation, I stopped the video and picked up the bowl.
The feathers on her head shot up, and she started squeaking.
Guilt set in.
My purchase had traumatized Donald.
Oddly, she didn’t fly away.
She simply paced the patio.
Then I realized she was waiting for the meal she knew and loved.
That’s exactly what she got.
Lesson learned.
Keep it simple!
Enjoy your day!
Jill
Can't blame you Donald! I'm not good at change either. I go by the saying "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!" :)
