Hello Friends!
Last week I mentioned a winter storm had it sights set on Charlotte.
It was predicted to hit Sunday morning and last through the day.
Early Sunday, like a child with hopes that school would be cancelled (I grew up before virtual learning) I sprang from the bed to look out of the window.
I ran downstairs for a better look.
With temperatures hovering around 30 degrees through out the day, we had a mixed bag of freezing rain and sleet.
The birds ate and ate!
I couldn’t get out on the patio to take care of their food, so I threw seed from the door.
When it got covered with ice, I threw more.
Later that night, Winter Storm Izzy moved out, but not before leaving behind a dusting of snow.
Another storm is in the forecast for Friday.
I’m so ready for spring!
Thank you to all who emailed me to share your favorite season and to enter the giveaway!
It seems the majority of you favor warmer temperatures, much like my favorite bird.
Once again, I spun the wheel.

Finally, I wanted to let you know that my friend and writer Jan Sikes has a new book coming out on January 31st!
Jagged Feathers (The White Rune Series Book 2) is now available for pre-order.
Vann Noble did his duty. He served his country and returned a shell of a man, wounded inside and out. With a missing limb and battling PTSD, he seeks healing in an isolated cabin outside a small Texas town with a stray dog that sees beyond his master's scars. If only the white rune's magic can bring a happily ever after to a man as broken as Vann.
On the run from hired killers and struggling to make sense of her unexplained deadly mission, Nakina Bird seeks refuge in Vann's cabin. She has secrets. Secrets that can get them all killed.
A ticking clock and long odds of living or dying, create jarring risks.
Will these two not only survive but find unexpected love along the way? Or, will evil forces win and destroy them both?
Congratulations, Jan!
Thanks so much for reading!
