Those are wonderful things, Jill! Berry lemonade and melon - I can imagine how nice that would be! I also love The Sound of Music - I haven't watched it in a very long time, but I remember the scene with My Favorite Things very well. You made me laugh about grinding your teeth - I've been ordered to wear a mouth guard at night to keep me under control. Hope you had a great holiday :)

Hi Barbara! I've tried many candles over the years, this one even gives off a fantastic scent when it's not lit. I hope the mouth guard provides some relief. I've chewed through three! Happy New Year!

I hope you had a lovely Christmas, Jill. A nice post, The Sound of Music is a great favourite of mine. My boys loved it and we watched it together 7 times and saw the theatre production. All the best for 2023.

I'm trying this comment again, Jill.

I always love your Donald videos!

My parents had the Broadway soundtrack album of The Sound of Music (and lots of other musicals), so my sister and I knew all the songs before the movie came out.

I think our holiday musical might be Fiddler on the Roof. We might watch that when our older child and their wife are here.

Lots of favorite things--the quiet of early mornings, my family, my cat, getting lost in the world of a novel, writing poetry . . .

Happy holidays, Jill!

So happy to see a puzzle with no missing pieces! Of course, a puzzle with any missing pieces would drive me crazy (short trip) with my (minor) OCD! Some of my favorite things are the little things that makes me happy: our three rescued furbabies, a Cajun hubby who cooks the meals, and contact from my family and friends! Large print books, eBooks, and audiobooks are favorites along with all kinds of puzzles. Merry Christmas, Jill, and y'all have Happy Holidays with loads of love and laughter! Love, Cheryl 🎅🏻🤶🏻⛪✝️🤗💖

Hi Cheryl! I was thrilled to have all of the pieces too! For a while, each puzzle I worked seemed to be missed a piece. Thank you for sharing your wonderful list of favorite things. Cajun...yummy! Merry Christmas to you and your family! xo

What a fun idea for a post! Another blog friend recently admitted to not yet seeing The Princess Bride, so I guess your admission it's TOO scandalous. ;) One of my favorite things, obviously, is Donald! And my family. Good books, the TV show Frasier (rewatching currently), holiday breaks, tasty tea... etc. etc. etc. :)

Hi Betsy! Oh no! Don't hate me, but I've never seen The Princess Bride either! Well, Donald will be so happy to hear she made your favorites list! You've got a great list! I appreciate you sharing. Wishing you and your family a wonderful holiday! xo

Lovely post. A few of my faves: 1st cup of morning coffee, 1st glass of wine in the evening 🤣🤣🤣, crossing items off my To Do list, talking to strangers in the store checkout line, being with family, especially my grandkids, getting a good night’s sleep, feeling and being healthy…

Thank you, Irene. I loved your list! Many of your favs are favorites of mine too. Enjoy the holidays with your beautiful grandkids! xo

Hi, Jill. Some of your favorite things are mine too, especially the candles and a special connection to the The Sound of Music. Cliff and I saw it 3 times the first week we met. He claims we fell in love watching it, so I'll go with that! I like our ducks as long as they stay swimming on the lake. Merry, merry Christmas to you and happy retirement too.

Oh my! I think you might have mentioned the fun fact about The Sound of Music on your blog, Marian. I can see why it's a favorite, but I have a feeling Cliff was watching you more than the movie. :) Thanks for sharing! Merry Christmas to you and your family! xo

Although Christopher Plummer maintained a hatred for that film for nearly 50 years, IMO it was perfect casting. One of those movies I have seen umpteen times. My favorite holiday movie is "White Christmas" with Bing Crosby, Rosemary Clooney, Danny Kaye, Vera-Ellen, and a super supporting cast. I drag it out every year and it never gets old. My favorite "things" include my cat, friends, coffee in the morning, walking anywhere, being able to get out of bed every morning to start a new day... Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a joyful 2023!

I'm with you, Roslyn. It was perfect casting...I don't know what he was thinking. Oh yes, White Christmas is definitely a favorite of mine too. Thanks for sharing your list! I remember some of your cool photo walks you did on your blog. As someone who's had a couple of back surgeries, I agree with you on being able to get out of bed each day. I hope your writing is coming along. Enjoy the holidays! xo

Donald and I have something in common. We don’t like cameras! I love “The Sound of Music”. As a child I had the soundtrack album and learned every word to every song! My favorite things are my cat, family and friends. Merry Christmas dear friend!
