By now you probably know that I love to work jigsaw puzzles.
As a child, I worked the block style puzzles with ten or more large pieces made of wood.
These days, the puzzles are more challenging. Yet, along with the frustration comes a sense of accomplishment.
As the pieces in an array of colors and shapes connect, I know the end result will be a completed picture.
Years ago, before I ever thought about writing a book, an old co-worker asked a question about my puzzling hobby that stuck with me.
“Why would you waste your time working on something that you end up taking apart?
Why wouldn’t you write a book or something?”
Six books later, his words bring a smile to my face.
Did he know something I didn’t know?
Probably not. But I do know that over the years, sitting in front of my puzzle has helped me to work through some challenging edits.
Do you work jigsaw puzzles? Or do they drive you bananas?

I used to work on jigsaw puzzles with my kids, but I have not done so in years. I want to say it is because I cross stitch all the time, but my daughter makes quilts and she is constantly also working on jigsaw puzzles. You have inspired me! She is visiting for Christmas and I will get out a puzzle!
I would love to win a puzzle!
Merry Christmas!
What a lovely gesture! Puzzles are a fun family project. I'm looking forward to reading your latest, dear Jill. Merry Christmas to you and yours! ❤
