Oh no! I'm sorry to hear that, Liz. It was 28 when I drove into work yesterday morning. I'll try to send some spring if it ever stick around more than a day. :) Thanks for reading!
You're right, Marian. During the winter, we kept many perennials that were in pots inside of the house. We thought they were safe, but when a hard freeze hit a couple weekends ago, everything came back inside. Have you all had crazy winds? It's been so gusty the past week. Thanks for reading!
What a fun update. You grow orchids--wow. Just wow. I thought they were impossibly difficult? And I had to chuckle about Derek thinking you had a problem with the notebooks. I might have said the puzzles, but my daughter is getting into them, too! Amazing. Hugs to you.
Yes, I have five orchids. I've heard they can be difficult to grow, but for whatever reason, mine do well. They usually bloom several times a year. Yeah, Derek rolls his eyes and laughs whenever I bring home a new notebook. I need to stay out of Marshalls, TJ Maxx and Hobby Lobby. I'm happy to hear your daughter has gotten into puzzling. You should try it. I have a feeling you'd get hooked, Jacqui. Thanks for reading! xo
Also remember to use ant moats on hummingbird feeders. Ants can be such pest of sweet nectar feeders.
We are busy tending to the perennials and planting more pretties as they come available. Flowers are great for the hummers as well as the bees. The finches love the zinnias.
Excellent point, Kay! Yes, the ants can be a nuisance. I usually stick a Terro stake in the ground below the feeders. It seems to work. You're right about the flowers. I love the salvia because the hummies seem to enjoy it. I love zinnias, too! Thank you again for the gorgeous photos. They were such a sweet suprise! You and Dale are so talented. Thanks for reading!
Beautiful photos, Jill, and thank you for the tips. We had lots of hummingbirds in MO, but being new to AZ, I'm not sure if there's a population or not. I will definitely find out. I love these little miracles. 💗
Thank you, Gwen! Actually, the first hummingbird I ever saw was in Arizona, so yes, they are there. That's so true, they are little miracles. I love that! Thanks for reading. xo
It was 21 degrees when I got up this morning. Please send spring!

You're welcome, Jill!
I snagged it, over here in California. I awoke to almost 60. Sigh.
Show off! Enjoy, Jacqui!
I liked this post
That makes me happy, Aussie. Thanks for reading!
Putting plants in pots is helpful especially if the weather is capricious, like in March!

Yes, It was so windy we had to bring in our wind chimes because they were clanging crazily.
I can imagine!
