Thanks, Priscilla! I'm going to miss the hummies. They are fun to watch. Yes, I'm excited for Mae! I'm looking forward to the entire series. Thanks for stopping by. I hope you're feeling better. xo
I think I recognize that hummingbird--he visits us in the winter!!! Mae Claire's novel sounds like it's right up my street--I love a good murder mystery and a good ghost story! I just finished up my first course in the UCLA Extension Certificate in Creative Writing Program. It was a lot harder and intense than I imagined--although I've been taking UCLA Extension classes in various subjects ever since I graduated decades ago--but it set me on the path to writing my memoirs which I've wanted to do for a while but didn't know how to get started. My goal is to complete the certificate but I'm not in a hurry. I just returned from a trip to Colorado and now I need to spend some time on my novel. Never a dull moment! Cheers, Roslyn.
Wow! You've certainly been busy, Roslyn. Congratulations on finishing your first course, that's great news! I have no doubt you'll reach your goal in your own time. Rushing something is never a good thing. I hope you'll share some of your photos from Colorado when you have time. Thanks for popping over! Happy writing! xo
Thanks Jill. That's the other thing I need to get back to--keeping up my blog on a regular basis. I post photos to Facebook but not all my friends are fans of that format--like everything else, it's merely a matter of organizing my time better!
It's hard to be everywhere, Roslyn. I gave up trying! Since I'm not on Facebook, I'll keep my eyes peeled for your blog posts. Instagram is a great place for photographers to share their photos. That's where I go to de-stress. :)
I LOVE your photo of the little hummingbird. It's so hard to catch them not moving for a brief second. Thank you SO much for featuring Mae's upcoming release in your newsletter! It is much appreciated.
Thanks, Jan! Some of our "regulars" like to hang out. They'll drink for a while until another hummie comes along and does a dive bomb to chase them off the feeder. :) It's my pleasure! I'm looking forward to your contribution to the collection too! Thanks for stopping by. xo
I'm happy you liked the video, Sarah. It is sad to see the hummies leave. Fortunately, I have a lot more videos and photos to get me through the cold winter months. Thanks for stopping by! Wishing you a blessed week ahead, Sarah. xo
Thanks, Liz! I'm glad you enjoyed the video. It's always difficult to say goodbye to summer. Funny thing, in the last few days of the season, I was attacked by fire ants. The memories of summer are still lingering. :)
I'm happy you're looking forward to the start of summer, Aussie Jo. Hopefully some warmer temperatures are in your future. Although I enjoy a break from our heat and humidity, by November, I'm ready for summer again. :) Thanks for your visit! xo
Summer leaving and taking the birds with must cause you a little sadness. Of course looking forward to them in April does temper that feeling. Loved the video.
Thanks, John! I'm happy you enjoyed the video. Yes, it is sad to see the hummies leave. Thankfully, all of the winter birds start to return after their departure...and of course, we still have Donald. She's a handful! Thanks for stopping by. xo
I feel the same, Betsy. Like you, I love to see the leaves, but I dread the long, cold winter months ahead. I'm glad you liked the video! Of course, Donald tried to photo bomb. :) Thanks for visiting! xo
She's stuck around for the last three winters, so hopefully she won't fly the coop. Of course with her, you never know! As you know, Donald isn't your average duck. :)
You need to move south, Jacqui! We're not in sweaters yet. I'm happy to hear you're becoming a hummie lover. They are beautiful to watch. I'm excited for Mae's release too. Thanks for visiting today! xo
Jill, as if on cue, the thermometer dipped to 63, a temp we haven't seen in Florida since March or April. Thanks for the nudge to appreciate fall, one of my favorites!
That's chilly, Marian! Time for you to break out the sweaters...at least for today. Our temperature has dropped also, but it should rebound a bit next week. Thanks for stopping by! xo
Love the hummer video and how you captured these feisty little ones not willingness to share. <3
I'll embrace the new season, but like you I will miss some of our migratory friends. For us, it also means the arrival of the Trumpeter Swans. We enjoy them, but have to travel 40 miles to see them. Not as handy as sitting on the porch. :)
I thought of you as I watched the hummies battle over the dianthus. It was hilarious. I love that you travel to see the swans. I'll look forward to your photos, Kay. Thanks for stopping by! xo
Only a couple more days until Mae's book releases! That hummingbird picture is amazing.

I did start an Instagram account as several friends post there but I haven't kept it up...maybe I'll get back to it...toooooo many things to do!
I know what you mean! Enjoy your weekend, Roslyn! xo

Loved the video and yes I always miss the hummingbirds when they leave for the fall and winter weather! Have a Blessed day Jill!

I love the hummingbird vidoe! I, too, hate to say goodbye to summer.
Thanks, Liz! I'm glad you enjoyed the video. It's always difficult to say goodbye to summer. Funny thing, in the last few days of the season, I was attacked by fire ants. The memories of summer are still lingering. :)
You're welcome, Jill! I've been bitten by fire ants, so you have my sympathy.
Thanks, Liz. The itching is driving me bananas!
You're welcome, Jill.
As you say goodbye to summer I am looking forward to summer starting here on this cold morning

Autumn makes me kind of sad. Yes, the leaf show, but then the leaves are gone entirely. :(
"Some hauntings come from within." Chilling!
Amazing hummingbird vid!

Awh, good ol' Donald. Will she be leaving you for warmer climes soon, you think? I'm not sure what ducks do!
She's stuck around for the last three winters, so hopefully she won't fly the coop. Of course with her, you never know! As you know, Donald isn't your average duck. :)
Maybe she'd like to spend part of her days indoors with you. :)
Oh yes...she's already tried to get inside! She'll need a ducky diaper first. :)
Haha!. Or perhaps a duck door so she can easily get back outside to do her business. Good luck training her. You might get a book out of this. :)
I'm already in sweaters and socks here in California. Darn!
You are making me a lover of hummingbirds. Your videos/pictures are always amazing.
Go Mae! Waiting for the release.

Happy Autumn. Thank you for the exquisite video and photo of the hummingbirds.
Happy Autumn, Karen! I'm happy you enjoyed the video. Thanks for stopping by. xo

Happy Autumn, Jill! Are you getting rain and wind today, too?
Thank you, Merril! Yes, we are. The winds were stronger yesterday, but the rain moved in overnight. Happy Autumn! xo
